LETTER TO PARENTS & CARERS
January 2021
Dear Parents & Carers,
Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year. Unfortunately, as you will know, January has also brought with it another lockdown resulting in school closures, which is beyond what we had expected back in December.
Thank you to all of you who responded to our short survey which was sent out before Christmas.
Based on the information we’ve received, and weighing up our operational outgoings (staff, hall hire, etc.), there is simply not enough demand for the Afty to be able to bear the cost of opening during this lockdown for the children of key workers, and it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to remain closed for the month of January.
As a thank you for your continued support and as a gesture of goodwill, we are suspending the terms of our Emergency Closure Policy this month. All January fees will be frozen for the time being and will be reviewed at the end of the month when hopefully we will be in a better position to understand what February will bring our way. If you have any arrears outstanding, please ensure they are cleared ASAP.
We hope that this suspension of our January fees will give all of our families a level of assistance, which will mitigate in some way the financial strain which we know many of our service users are now facing.
We will of course provide further updates as and when we receive them.
Kind regards
Angela Iheagwaram
